Speaker Opportunities
GeekMeet is always looking for speakers who are relevant to the membership and have the time to come present to the group. To ensure that all our speakers provide relevant content to our membership, we genearlly ask that the following criteria be met by all speaker presentations (some exceptions do apply):
- Must be about some aspect of technology. Can be hardware, software, network, telecom, programming, security, etc. etc.
- It must have some business implication - cheaper, faster, more secure, etc.
- There must be some immediate value to the members. Can they take something away that they can use in their jobs, tell their boss about or otherwise help them out?
Most of our events are on Thursday evenings from around 6pm until about 9pm. Each event has a more specific agenda as necessary. Our attendance ranges from 25 to 50 attendees, with the more popular topics drawing the larger crowds.
In addition to the exposure our speakers get at the event, GeekMeet also promotes our speakers by listing them in our email notices about the event as well as including a logo linked back to their site from the specific event page. It is our hope that our speakers get at least as much out of the event as our members so let us know if you have any specific requests or needs.
